If you enjoy making graphics for your favorite fandoms, and if one of your favorite fandoms is Scream Queens, I invite you to come join scream-stills on LiveJournal! We host open icon battles and bi-weekly icontests for the AHS fandom. All of the seasons are involved, so no one is left out. Come join us in the fun at scream-stills.livejournal.com!

We do things a littttllleee differently here at scream_stills Here's the gist:

  1. Icon battles are NOT worth points, unlike most other icon battles, because this community is not part of a landcomm.

  2. Anything goes in icon battles INCLUDING animated icons! So have at it!

  3. Whoever decides to enter into an icon battle will decide on the theme/number of icons submitted/timeframe/win or lose battle. Participants are responsible for posting a poll if the battle is win/lose! Mods will post who won the battle and any specific winning icons shortly after the battle ends, and banners will be made at a later time.

  4. If you wish to join a battle, peruse the battles submitted in the registration post and alert the person/people involved in the battle. Once details have been decided upon, submit your icon battle to the main community page using the submission form here.

  5. All icons submitted are up for grabs, but CREDIT MUST BE GIVEN TO THE MAKER! If they have any other stipulations to use their icons, you MUST follow their wishes!!! The mods and this community do not take responsibility for any broken rules the makers post.

  6. You may post teasers, but please do not post more than 2 icons per participant. Post the rest of the icons in the battle under an LJ cut. You do not have to use a table, but you may if you wish.

  7. All entered icons in icon battles must be labed with the following classes: Pearls, Diamonds, Lace, Fur.

  8. Classes are used when registering your battle. You may make as many icons as you wish (within the icon limit--already agreed upon with your challenger beforehand) for any class. Each participant must designate a certain amount to each class, but you must use each class at least once.

Pearls: 2 icons
Diamonds: 3 icons
Lace: 1 ionc
Fur: 3 icons

  • The number of icons you create for a specific class does not have to match those of your battle competitor.

  • (Example: You could have 6 icons for the Ghost class and your competitor may have 3.)

  • The classes are used in other icon battle comms to designate points for each class (and, therefore, how many points you have earned per icon in that class), but since there are no points for our battles, the classes are used to organize the icons that have been submitted.

  • Again, battles are not worth points, just fun!

Bitch Punch submission

So you're ready to submit your icon battle? Great! Fill in the form below with all of the information then create a new post in the main community page and the mods will make sure everything is submitted correctly so we can get your icons up.

  • Icon battles are NOT worth points.

  • If this battle is win/lose, it is your responsibility to have created a separate poll with all of the icons you wish to include for voting.

  • If this battle is participation only, you do not need to worry about creating a poll.

  • You may post teasers, but please do not post more than 2 icons per participant. Post the rest of the icons in the battle under an LJ cut. You do not have to use a table, but you may if you wish.

  • All icons created for an icon battle are up for grabs. Feel free to make stipulations on usage, however. These are your creations, and we want to make sure you feel comfortable sharing them!

Want to challenge a fellow pledge? Here's how you do it.
(ganked from iq_coliseum)

Bitch, I'm gonna slap you so hard...
This means you want to start a battle, and you're putting your name out there to be matched with a random person/people with similar interests. After this, we can only hope that you agree and proceed to battle phase!

The comments won't be screened, so, if by perusing the list of applicants you find someone you think suitable, you can ask them directly by answering to their comment. After the match is made and accepted by the other party(ies), feel free to talk amongst yourselves about details. You can leave suggestions on your form, but fine adjustments such as definitive theme(s), number of caps chosen and time to complete the battle, etc... will be left for all of the participants to decide. Please make a notation that offers for more applicants no longer stands once all decisions have been made. Potential applicants will know that a battle has been decided upon by looking at the battle thread comments. If you see a discussion in progress, that means that battle is no longer accepting applicants. The mods will delete the battle thread once that battle is posted to the main community page. (**Note: The first battle thread will be left open as an example for future battle threads, but the battle has already been decided upon and is no longer taking applicants.)

Please fill in the form below and leave it in the comments. You're not required to fill the entire form, but the more information you give, the more chances you have for a successful match.

  1. We will post one (1) challenge every other week. Challenges will begin on Fridays and you will have one week and two (2) days to submit entries (due on Sundays). We will post a mid-week reminder and a reminder the day of the submission deadline with a link to the challenge post. **If there are extenuating circumstances or fewer than three entrants by the deadline of submission, the challenge due date will be extended to Wednesday at 11:59p MST allow extra time for additional submissions.

  2. The challenge will close 1 week and two (2) days from when it opened at 11:59pm MST. If there is an emergency for one of the mods in RL, we may extend the challenge. We will let you know if this happens and when the new date for submission will be.

  3. We will post six (6) unedited caps with two (2) open caps to be chosen by the entrant, but you may only choose to submit up to 6 icons. You do not have to create the maximum limit, but your creations can only be one icon per cap. You may, however, blend two caps together to create one icon.[Example here]

  4. We will accept blending, text, negative space, and any other form of enhancement or editing for the icons submitted. Anything goes except animated icons. Make sure all entries comply to the LJ standards (100x100 px and less than 40kb)

  5. As there is only one season completed, caps will be chosen from season one until season two ends. At that time, the six (6) provided caps will be alternated between both seasons.

  6. Every now and then we may surprise you with a technical or themed prompt which you may choose from within a regular weekly prompt. (Again, regular weekly icontest prompts are six (6) unedited and two (2) open caps from which you may choose a total six (6).) These themes/technical prompts are optional. You do not earn brownie points for creating icons within these prompts, but it's nice to switch things up sometimes.

Submitting icons:

  1. Please upload your images to an anonymous hosting site (such as postimage.com, tinypic.com, imgur.com, etc...).

  2. Do not post your images anywhere until winners are announced.

  3. Post submissions as a photo and post the direct link with file type below it.

Voting and winning iconage posts:

  1. Voting will open shortly after the challenge ended and will stay open for 3 days (beginning on Monday and ending on Wednesday at 11:59pm MST). If the challenge has been extended, the open voting will be from Thursday to Saturday.

  2. We will make a winning icon post after polling has closed and the points have been tallied, and we will post the winners' banners before the next open voting.

  3. We will post the winning iconage and icons that were entered in the challenge in one post. All entered icons may be up for grabs, including non-winning icons.

  4. Please comment on the winning iconage post if you wish to use an icon that someone else has made, and give credit to the maker. If they stipulate anything else in order to use their artwork, please follow their wishes. This community and mods do not hold any responsibility if usage rules are broken.
